Do your lawmakers know what’s important to you and your business?
DRC members had the opportunity to spend time with four North Texas legislators during the second DRC Power Hour last week. This series of evening receptions gives our members exclusive access to their representatives as they prepare to move legislation forward, vote on bills, and create laws that impact our community and businesses every day.
Senator Royce West, Representative Kenneth Sheets, Representative Ron Simmons, and Representative-Elect John Wray joined us for the event. After spending time meeting and mingling with those in attendance, the legislators each took a few minutes to discuss their platform and specifically those issues they’ll be advocating for during the 84th Legislative Session that begins in January. These issues included healthcare coverage, economic development incentives, and education funding. However, all were in agreement that transportation infrastructure, including the passage of Proposition 1, is critical.
